For the most part, the Allen wrench was just fine. But you’ll want a drill to screw the panels onto the border of the bed frame.Instructions are very easy to follow. You’ll definitely need a second person to align the side panel to the top panel. But other than that you can do this by yourself.Pro tip: when you are finished sliding all of the slats into the black sleeve, and the next step is to screw three metal support beams in the center… DO NOT…. I repeat… DO NOT… screw them in tightly. Why? Welp, you have to slide in two other long supporting beams and if that is too tight you’ll have to go back and loosen them (pain in the $@!). You can go back after it’s put in its place and tighten without a problem.Other than that… easy peasey. It took me a bit to put this together mostly because by myself balancing piece to get it lined up and then getting screws lined up was hard. I ended up recrewing my 6 year old to find me things to put under pieces to help me out. It did say 2 was needed but widow life here say that isn't an option so I did it alone and I got it done. It took about the ETA the book said not much longer. I would say the longest part was the slats and if you really wanted something more durable then the thin wood a metal Bunkie board bed could also be used as a bottom platform for even more stability.I did end up getting 4" risers though as t was a bit to low for me to be able to fit my ikea storage bins under the bed as is.Well, like most reviews on here my box arrived damaged & open on the end. There wasn’t much to any damage inside so I wasn’t concerned. The first part of the assembly was going great, everything was fitting perfectly, it was such a breeze. Then it came down to the last 2 screws on the “long” side of the frame and it almost seemed that the holes were off my maybe a centimeter. But I was able to add in some different screws and make it work.NOW where it all went down hill… the metal slats… after a little maneuvering I was able to get them all down inside the frame except for both ends! I had to really force them in there & resorted to using the hammer to make it fit ! (Hints the picture with it all torn up inside).. Let’s just say that B**** isn’t going anywhere now! Once you put it together don’t plan on taking it apart! So far it seems sturdy, I will update review once I get the mattress on***UPDATE***The mattress I got fits the bed perfectly. My son,2.5y sleeps on the bed. It’s low enough to the ground even with the mattress that he is able to climb on and off with no problems. The frame is very sturdy, holds my family of 3.Although it was a pain to put together it’s been a really good bed frame. For those reasons I’m adding stars.Started off easy but it was difficult for me to screw the slats into the bed frameI bought this bed to be delivered to my daughter’s college house. It took us about 45 minutes to put together. Directions were easy to follow.Highly recommend using an electric drill. We didn’t have one with us, and putting the plats on the bed was a little tough without an electric drill.I bought this bed because it definitely look like a Boho themed bed. It is a super cute bed. And the instruction manual it says for a nice installation make sure you have two people. I thought it was funny but I only had myself when I was putting my bed together and didn’t feel like waiting help me. Definitely a pretty hard bed to install by yourself it looks very cute.Kind of hard to put together alone. You really need two people. Super cute. My pre teen daughter loves itI have put lots of furniture together and this was by far the most annoying and complicated piece I’ve assembled. The directions clearly state that two people are needed for assembly and I got by alone until I had to install the slats. This step was the hardest to accomplish. It has a fabric piece that holds the crossbars but you also have to try to turn it over to install the feet braces. The center one was the hardest. Once that was done we had to try to carry it into the room where the bed frame was assembled (not enough room in there to assemble the slat part). It’s just hard to manage the fabric piece and keep the slats in place. Overall, sturdy bed frame with nice height.I had a horrendous experience with this product. The instruction manual was awful, and I’ve put together a lot of flat pack furniture. The pre drilled holes didn’t match up, so I contacted Amazon support, but unfortunately there was no way to return as their shipping service didn’t operate in my area. They advised me to reach out to Ashley Home directly, which I did a few weeks ago but got no reply.I ended up drilling my own holes, as I needed a bed and had spent almost $300 on this one - only to find the slats were slightly uneven and didn’t fit. I had to hammer them in which made a huge mess. Not impressed at all. Don’t bother wasting your time.Love this bed frame
