I have owned and enjoyed this sandal style in the higher height for many, many years. I was not disappointed with this new height that is a little bit lower. The reason I really appreciate this sandal style is the buckle that I can actually "buckle." As nice as the velcro concept can be for our aging population and for the quick convenience it lends, I do not like the velcro in the long run. The velcro is dangerous! It has opened when I least expect it, when walking quickly, or being in a precarious position like on the side of a hill. My foot has fallen out of the sandal; and I have either tripped badly trying to catch myself or I have fallen. The velcro also wears out over time and does not hold on as well as in the beginning. Give me a real buckle any day! For this reason alone I like these new sandals. The style and colors are also attractive.
