These boots are warm and comfortable and shed the snow right off. I have at least 5 or 6 pairs of Alegrias for different seasons and I am very happy I purchased these. I got a chance to wear them with our last snow storm. I had to stop on the side of the road the other day to help someone who was stuck during a previous storm. I was wearing my Chris Alegrias and my feet were super cold after a 1/2 hour. I wish I was wearing these because they would have kept my toes toasty.These Nanooks are very stylish and the snowflake buttons look even nicer in person than they do in the picture. These were the least expensive Nanooks but I feel that they were the nicest after I received them. I feel that these boots are true to size and I am thrilled that the footbed is removeable (as with most of the Alegria footwear) if you want to air them out or need to replace them in the future. They are cute and fashionable and keep you warm and cozy. So glad I purchased them and I recommend them for extreme winter wear. The only thing I would change is the height because more height would be better, but they are still a very nice pair of boots.I used to wear Uggs as my slippers in the house but when I saw Algeria made these with arch support I was uber happy.ConsStretch if you walk a lot in them ( I have an outdoor pair and an indoor pair. The indoor pair is all snug but the outdoor pair has stretched so much I have had to put two layers of socks.The insole is not all soft inside like Uggs so I got ugh insoles and switch them when I am sitting and want to feel UGG sheepskin.The tops fray out a little - it be better if they were stretchy and flesh to pants.The boots are a tad to short, wish they went a little higher on my calfs.You have to wear socks with these (unless add Ugg insole) Because insole it comes with rough for feet.Despite all these cons I still give them 4 stars because these are my go to shoes for being cozy and giving my feet a break. I live in a cold climate and wear them all year long, even in summertime.PlusesAwesome colors- goes great with everything.Buckles are super cute.They are warm.They support your feet and back.Suede seems very good material I got a little wet and dried up no stain ( I have not yet but shoe protector in it).The bottom track is good and makes you feel secure walking wear there are wet leaves.They have removable insoles so when you wear them down you can get new insoles instead of new shoes.My feet and back feel so much better since I got rid of all my Uggs and traded them for these.Updated Review: I had to change my review from a 5 star to a 1 star because.....I purchased my pair of Nanooks through Amazon at a great price to wear during our dream vacation to Ireland. Upon arrival, they fit well and were quite comfortable. Checked baggage was limited to one bag with a weight limit so I had to center my wardrobe around a 3 pair of shoes. I planned 5 outfits around these boots because I loved them so much and they were perfect for the weather. Fast forward to our first day in Ireland. I was putting them on and the stiffened heal section, sometimes called the quarter, broke in such a way that you could feel a rough gouging piece that would have shredded the back of my heal. I never even made it out of my hotel room. I was forced to buy a new pair that I couldn’t afford and to leave these behind to make up for the added weight and space needed for the extra pair. This was my first pair of Alegria Shoes and they were the worst part of my vacation. Ugh!!Original Review: I ordered these in my normal size of 8.5 (38 M EU). I was a bit nervous about the fit because I wear a full 8.5 An 8 never fits me and a 9 is only slightly too big. My feet are wider than average and if it had been available, I would have ordered them in a wide. I am not petite or small boned by any stretch of the imagination so putting them on the first time was a work out. I was considering sending them back. I took off the socks I had on and put on a pair of spanks knee high hose because they are very thin. That helped considerably and I was able to work them on. The length was perfect but they were very snug across my foot. I wore them for about an hour the first time and I find it gets easier and easier to get them on each time I wear them. I haven't worn them out yet. I am saving them for my vacation. I love the form fitting support of the insole. Overall they are well made, super cute, and quite nice. Now that they are broke in a bit, they are the most comfortable boots I own so I had to give them 5 stars.I love these boots! They are comfortable, toasty warm, and CUTE. Added bonus: Those buttons on the side aren't just decorations but rather fully functional buttons with loops to hold the sides closed. This makes putting the boots on much easier than boots like Uggs.I bought these boots to wear not only outside but around the house as slippers. I have both Plantar Fasciitis and Metatarsalgia which necessitates constant support to my feet. I cannot go bare foot and likewise cannot wear normal slippers. I cannot wear most shoes because they lack the support that I require. Without that support I am in horrible pain. The arch support on the boot is good, which is important because that is what relieves and accommodates the swelling and pain in the metatarsal area.The boots are fairly flexible, which is actually a downside for me personally. Because that's a personal issue, I won't detract a star. If you're looking for a boot with a solid, inflexible sole comparable to Alegria clogs/slides, this is not the same.I'm so happy that I bought these boots. There was a time that I could not have imagined spending $100 for boots (or $140 for Alegria's slides) but now I do so happily.I was expecting this wide size to fit like the other wide shoes but this wide is not wide enough
