I bought these on a whim just because I love to have a few pairs of slip-on shoes for days when I just want to lay back and relax. The art you see in the pictures is exactly what the art looks like when you receive the shoes. I can already tell that these shoes were made to last. The soles are hard rubber but very flexible so that movement is very comfortable. I did not need a break-in period at all. The size chart did show an EU size of 40 as 8 1/2, but I lived in Europe for years and I always wore a 40, which is a US 9. I took a leap of faith that perhaps the seller made a mistake and I'm glad that I did because the 40 fit perfectly. If you don't plan to wear socks with these shoes, then order your exact size. I wear an EU 40 so that the shoes fit when I wear socks. The upper is made of quality materials and again - I can tell these were made to last quite a while. I highly recommend these to anyone looking for a unique style that is easy to slip on and casually walk around town or just lounge around the house. I have already walked at least 30 miles in these, so for me these do not present any discomfort for long walks. I have narrow feet, so please keep that in mind. I'm not sure how comfortable these would be for someone with fallen arches or wide feet, but they are definitely great shoes for this buyer! :0)
